Njegusi
After admiring the magnificent Bay of Kotor, we continue our Great Montenegro tour over the slopes of Mt. Lovćen to reach the most famous village in Montenegro - Njeguši, where the best prosciutto (smoked ham) in the region is produced.
Along our winding road path we pass a number of original 300+ year old Montenegrin stone houses. Don’t be surprised to see cows and goats grazing, resting, running around or even blocking the road in the surrounding fields and slopes.
Around 09.30 am everybody should be ready for a short breakfast/snack at the oldest restaurant in Montenegro - first opened in 1881.
But before you grab a bite, your guide will invite you to enjoy a free traditional RAKIJA shot (strong local brandy), just to start your day off better

The big attraction on the Riviera of Budva is Sveti Stefan. The former fishing village situated on a peninsula became an exclusive luxury hotel-town 50 years ago where non-guests are not allowed to enter.
We have just enough time to enjoy the beauty of the island and to caption it in a photo.

I took both the Great Montenegro Tour and the North Montenegro Tour - both were fantastic. Our tour guide Slavko made the experience even more fun. He was also very informative and provided historical facts along the way. There was plenty of time given for each stop, and the views were incredible. It's good value for money, highly recommended!
Amazing Day out !

We had a fantastic private day tour of Montenegro today. We did so much in one day. We absolutely loved the spectacular scenery. Many wow factor moments. We are a family of 4 with two teens and Slavco was our guide. As well as having in depth knowledge on Montenegro, (you can tell he is very passionate about his country) he also has a great sense of humour … a good requirement on a full day tour. The day was filled with really fun and fascinating facts … even the kids enjoyed the long day. We all laughed a lot and felt super relaxed never rushed.
We particularly enjoyed the beautiful boat ride ….and bird spotting at it’s very best! Thanks Slavco - we will recommend you and this beautiful country to friends for a wonderful experience.
Great value- amazing day!

An incredible, jam-packed day immersed in natural beauty unlike anything I’ve ever seen. These memories and images will stay with me forever.
With limited time in Kotor, we were initially hesitant to commit a full day away from the Bay and Old Town. However, this tour is SO worth it, and the value can’t be beat. You see so much. Our guide and driver clearly had immense love for their country (and a passion for their work), sharing both historical knowledge as well as personal anecdotes.
If anything, go for the absolutely arresting views at the top of the Jezerski Peak, beside the mausoleum. Or the tranquil boat ride on the River Crnojević.
Can’t fault this. A few things to make note of:
- Bring cash.
- The steep ascent up the mountain, while worth the climb, is tough.
- Wish we would’ve had more free time to explore Cetinjie, but the walking tour through the main points of interest was great!
Great tour
