3-Day Private Canoe Adventure Through the Tara Canyon

It features three days canoeing through pure wilderness in Europe's deepest and one of the world’s most beautiful canyons. During this tour you will be paddling your own canoe with provisions and camping gear (but you can be assisted if necessary). Wild camping in the canyon provides access to the remotest and least frequented sections of the river canyon with an epic backdrop and breathtaking views, away from the commercial tours. These areas feature untouched wilderness and on most trips we sight big game wildlife, including the chamois, deer, or if extremely lucky, wolves or bears.

Epic wilderness, secluded beaches, fantastic experience

I had a great time joining "The Canyon" tour in August (paddling for 3 days in the gorgeous Tara Canyon incl. 2 nights of wild camping).
I have been traveling the Balkans for 6 weeks this summer and this tour was definitely one of my highlights and among my most memorable experiences. Getting to Camp Grab was a bit of an effort but feasible (given that I travelled without my own vehicle). In case you're in the same situation, simply reach out to Adam and he will assist you (I took a bus from Sarajevo to the Scepan Polje border).
What makes this tour unique is the epic wilderness and the stunning remoteness of the canyon (haven't seen another canoe in the first two days). Also spending two nights on VERY secluded beaches was a fantastic experience [forget about Thailand :o) ]. Water is cold (hence refreshing) and very clean (drinkable).

Priceless trip for nature lovers looking for and adventure

This trip was one of the most special experience we ever had. First of all, the canyon is a dream location for any nature lover. The crystal clear water cutting though the mountains is extremely spectacular. Also, camping on the remote sandy beaches next to the river is a sureal experience on it's own . Second, the canoeing is really fun. We had no prior experience and managed to fully enjoy the 3 days trough calm and fast rapids. It's more relaxing than exercising. Third, the guides amplify the experience to the maximum. You can really tell that they do this out of passion. Their love for nature is contagious and their obsession to make their clients feel happy makes this trips worth every cent.

3 Day adventure down the Tara

We are a family of 5. Kids are 21 19 and 15. I'm 55 and not allowed to discuss my wife's age! We have just returned from a three day expedition down the Tara River. This was part of a Six day holiday in Montenegro. The Tara trip was the highlight. It was absolutely fantastic and I cant recommend it strongly enough.
Before the main trip started we had a day in the lower stretches of the River getting a little training and a taste of the Rapids to come. Over night in Camp Grab before driving the next day to the Tara Bridge where we started. We were escorted by Gigo, Adam and Mirko through some of the most beautiful scenery on the planet. I have added a few photos but in the flesh the river looks even better. Overnight we camped on the beach the first night and the second night we spent in Camp Encijan in Bosnia before returning to Grab on day 3. We enjoyed every minute. Gigo and team were brilliant and we left as friends. The river is not only beautiful but also exciting with frequent Rapids to level 3.
Pack rafts are fun, light and stable but expect to capsize at some point. We all did but it was part of the fun and nobody was hurt.
If you are looking for pristine wilderness, incredible scenery and some fun on a turquoise river then this trip is for you. I cant imagine that anyone confidant in water would regret this adventure. It was one of our best family trips (possibly the best).

This 3 day adventure was more than I could have hoped for. The canyon, mountains, waterfall and river of Montenegro are a wonderland day and night... You can see some nice places in the pictures, but you don't have the smell, sounds, the history, etc... And one of the best surprises: Adam and Gigo, the guides. They generously shared with us a taste of their passion as if we were their first customers.
